Carrom is a game that looks like a combination of billiards and shuffles. It is played on a 74 cm x 74 cm board of polished wood or glass. The playing pieces bounce back well through the hardwood edge. The intention of the game is to shoot the largest and heaviest disc on the board, the plastic disc with the fingers so that it reflects the smaller stones in one of the holes in the corners. For better gliding ability the board is sprinkled with Carrom powder. Sometimes talcum powder is also used.
