Because of its long lifespan, Aramith guarantees the lowest cost per billiard ball over time. Furthermore, the extra phenolic surface significantly reduces burn marks on both the billiard balls and the cloth compared to other billiard balls.
 | Heavy-duty design Instead of a polyester number-plug design, the Aramith concept has the numbers precisely engraved into a solid core that runs all the way through the ball. As such, it's impossible for number cores to fail over time. The use of phenolic resin ensures homogeneous properties in each section of the ball. So homogeneous that when it finally reaches its breaking point (and a minimum load of 5 tons is required in the case of an Aramith ball), the ball will break randomly, and not along the dividing line between the stripe and the rest of the ball, as you might expect. |  |
 | Burn-spot resistant Hitting a cue ball accelerates it from 0 to over 30 km/h (20 MPH) in just a fraction of a second. The resulting friction temperature between the ball and the cloth can easily reach 250°C (482°F). That’s why Aramith balls are the only ones made of true phenolic resin: their molecular structure is designed to be abrasion-resistant at these high temperatures, making Aramith balls much less susceptible to abrasive burn marks. They maintain their high gloss and smoothness over a much longer period of time, resulting in minimal wear and tear on ball and tablecloths. |  |
 | High impact resistance Because hitting the balls is the essence of billiards, impact resistance is a critical factor. Aramith's phenolic heat-curing process fully stabilizes the material's stresses. It produces a high-density, vitrified surface that offers maximum impact resistance. Tests have shown that Aramith phenolic balls can withstand more than 50 times the impact of other polymer or polyester balls. They are also twice as scratch-resistant. Consequently, when used intensively, even on less-maintained tables, Aramith balls are significantly less likely to be damaged than other balls by pocket fasteners, table mechanisms, or cue sticks. |
