Electric heating wire for billiards, camper, caravan, and home
This electric heating wire is suitable for heating billiard tables and for custom applications in campers, caravans, and homes. The wire can be incorporated into electric floor or wall heating and is ideal for locations where limited installation space is available.
Thin heating wire with silicone protective layer
The heating wire consists of a resistance wire surrounded by a heat-resistant silicone protective layer. As soon as the wire is connected, even heat is generated.
The wire has a resistance of 1.46 Ohms per meter and is approximately 3 mm thick . This allows it to be easily installed on a suitable moisture-resistant plasterboard, chipboard, or other suitable substrate.
Secure the wire with suitable clamps or staples next to the wire. Never staple through the silicone protective layer.
Electric underfloor heating for motorhomes and caravans
Due to its thinness, this heating wire is highly suitable for electric underfloor heating in a camper or caravan. The wire can be installed at a spacing of approximately 5 to 7 cm .
In combination with a suitable thermostat and temperature sensor, you can regulate the temperature accurately. This way, you enjoy a pleasantly heated floor during cold days, without large radiators or heavy heating panels.
Possible applications are:
- Electric underfloor heating in a camper
- Underfloor heating in a caravan
- Electric wall heating
- Heating under a seating or sleeping area
- Custom heating in small spaces
- Replacement of old heating plates under a billiard table
Heating wire for billiard table heating
This resistance wire is increasingly being used as a replacement for traditional heating plates under a billiard table. The wire can be distributed evenly under the slate, ensuring the billiard table is heated across the entire playing surface.
For a billiard table with playing dimensions of 115 x 230 cm, we recommend at least 45 meters of heating wire .
When connected to 230 volts, the estimated power is:
| Heating wire length | Estimated net worth |
|---|---|
| 45 meters | approximately 805 watts |
| 50 meters | approximately 725 watts |
| 55 meters | approximately 660 watts |
| 60 meters | approximately 605 watts |
| 65 meters | approximately 560 watts |
The longer the wire, the lower the total power and heat output. The correct length depends on the application, the insulation, the desired temperature, and the available space.
Saving energy on billiard heating
With a timer and a properly adjusted thermostat, you can significantly reduce the energy consumption of your billiard table heating.
Our advice:
- Turn on the heating approximately 1.5 hours before you play billiards.
- Turn off the heating approximately 1.5 hours before the last player stops.
- The billiard table remains warm for approximately 1.5 hours after being switched off.
- Turn off the heating on days when no games are being played.
- Use a properly adjusted thermostat.
- Consider a synthetic billiard cloth instead of a wool billiard cloth.
Adjust the thermostat so that the temperature of the billiard table is approximately 5 degrees higher than the ambient temperature. This ensures the heating does not need to remain switched on continuously. With a proper setting, the system heats for about two-thirds of the time on average.
Important during assembly
The required wire length and power must be carefully calculated before installation. The wire must not be crossed, damaged, or mounted too close together locally. Always use a suitable thermostat, temperature sensor, and electrical protection.
Have the connection and inspection of an electric heating system carried out by a qualified installer. Check in advance whether the heating wire is suitable for the chosen floor, wall, or vehicle application.
