Longoni uses only the best hard rock Canadian maple for the top ends. The trees are felled in winter. Then the sap flows almost stop. The drying process starts immediately after harvesting. Then planks and beams are sawn. This happens outside in the open air. This allows all elements of nature to take their course. To the first rough turning of the top ends (after more than 1 year of drying outside). The raw ends are further dried for 1 year in a constant climate chamber. This causes all cells to shrink evenly. This also creates a stable and straight top end. The plastic cap is a special JBR cap that is hollow to the bottom of the tip. The tip used is a Da Vinci tip. All top ends are provided with special Longoni wax at the factory. This produces a very smooth result.
