What is a break cue?

A break cue is essential for executing the opening shot powerfully and effectively, which spreads the balls at the start of the game. This special cue is designed with stiffer and harder materials than a standard cue, providing extra momentum and impact on the balls. This can lead to potting one or more balls from the opening shot, thanks to the increased momentum and spin.

What is a jump cue?

With a jump cue, you can escape tricky situations by making the cue ball jump over other balls. This cue is shorter than standard cues, with a length of approximately 105 cm, and features a hard tip. This makes it easier to play the ball over another ball, which is particularly useful when you find yourself in a difficult position.

For players who want to combine both the power of the break and the finesse of the jump in one cue, we offer the break and jump cue. This 3-piece cue combines the functionalities of both cues, allowing you to remove the butt section to make the cue suitable for jump shots, while for break shots all sections remain attached.

Good choice for a beginner?

These cues are a good choice for a beginner player. This way, you immediately have a good cue for the break and can learn how to make a ball jump. For a beginner player, we would recommend the combination cue. With this cue, you do not need to purchase two different cues, and you can use just one cue to make a shot and jump a ball. Of course, this works perfectly fine with a standard cue as well, but it does become a bit more difficult.
